R.E
At St Marks we follow the Stockport SACRE Agreed Syllabus. RE is taught through 3 mains stages: Believing (where children learn about religious beliefs and teachings), expressing (which is delivered through religious and spiritual forms of expression) and living (children learn about different religious practices and ways of living). These areas of learning are taught to the children through 4 main religions. What Christians, Jews, Muslims and Hindus believe and practise. By the end of Key Stage 2 they will have looked at all 4 religions and had chance to express their views.
Collective Worship

We are working on year C in the values for life during 2018/19
Children participate in an act of collective worship everyday: this could be in the hall as a whole school or Key Stage, or in their classrooms as a class. The children will hear bible stories, learn about the teachings of Jesus and develop an understanding about the Values for Life. On Friday the Collective Worship is led by our vicar, Reverend Bull and children have the chance to attend church at least 4 times a year: Church Week, Harvest, Christmas and Easter.
