At St Mark’s we care for the whole child. We try to create a rounding experience where children are valued, stretched, challenged, encouraged and inspired to be themselves and strive for greatness. The academic part of our school is one avenue to do this. We believe and endeavour to create other opportunities outside the academic curriculum to enhance and add to the experiences our children have at St. Marks.
School life at St Marks is vibrant, noisy and active. We are a school that keeps our staff and children busy.
Pastoral care is of utmost importance to us. Providing a safe, caring, kind, supportive and welcoming environment is a priority for us.
All children are placed into a House when they join our school – Marie Curie (yellow), Nelson Mandela (green), William Shakespeare (blue) and Florence Nightingale (red). Termly rewards are given to the winning house who have collected the most house points in that term. A House Cup is presented yearly and rewards are given. Sports events etc are all organised using the Houses.
Our Parent Support Mentor and Behaviour Support Mentor are employed to support the needs of all children. They help with small group work, attendance, punctuality, social skills, parenting groups and forums as well as safeguarding and liaising with other professionals. They work as part of a Pastoral Team who meet to ensure good pastoral care is in place to support the needs of all our children.
